What could your move to Phnom Penh look like?

Start with the same researched budget used in our city guide, then choose an area to investigate. Your choices stay in this tab while you explore.

01 · A monthly starting point

$1,050 / 30 days · estimate

Add your monthly ceiling to compare this starting estimate with your budget.

1BR · outside centre
$366
Food & cafés
$247
Mobile plan
$8
Transport
$158
Bills, extras & reserve
$271

One adult; 12-month housing target. Add health, insurance, coworking, visas, flights and arrival costs. Rental furnishings and lease terms require a matching quote. Confirm licence, insurance and riding suitability before renting.

See the routine and price evidence

One adult, a private one-bedroom outside the city centre, 30 casual meals, groceries for the remaining meals, 8 café coffees and a rented small automatic motorbike for 400 km per month per 30 days. Gym and paid entertainment are optional.

Price reference reviewed 2026-09-04: Numbeo · reported city prices. Reported prices plus stated planning allowances; not live quotes.

Full city sources and assumptions →

02 · A place to investigate

Daun Penh · Central Market

A central rental lead to compare with your recurring destinations.

Your fieldwork task: Inspect the actual apartment entrance, stairs or lift and sleeping room. Test the trip to your work base.

Tradeoff: A central address may have a very different evening routine from your preferred work neighborhood.

03 · Your next action

Choose an arrival month, then confirm temporary accommodation and its extension price. Arrange two viewings and test your normal daily route before signing.

The month organizes your checklist; it does not reprice housing or check visa and seasonal conditions. Areas are editorial investigation options, not inspected-property recommendations.

Take this starting point into a complete plan.

The $29 pack adds your own home quotes, signing and arrival calculations, local enquiry templates and a workbook you can save and export. This free preview remembers choices in this tab; it does not transfer entries into the paid workbook.

Turn three quotes into a clearer decision.

Change a quote or your stay length. See how fees change the comparison and how much cash you need to sign.

Illustrative USD examples, not Phnom Penh listings or local price estimates. All three example leases are assumed to fit your dates.

Home A

$625

effective monthly cost

  • Rent: $500 / month
  • Bills: $100 / month
  • One-time fee: $300
  • Refundable deposit: $500

Home B

$650

effective monthly cost

  • Rent: $550 / month
  • Bills: $100 / month
  • One-time fee: $0
  • Refundable deposit: $1,100

Home C

$680

effective monthly cost

  • Rent: $600 / month
  • Bills: $80 / month
  • One-time fee: $0
  • Refundable deposit: $600

Your example decision

Home A has the lowest effective cost.

Set aside $1,300 to sign for Home A: one month of rent, the setup fee and refundable deposit. Bills and other arrival expenses are additional.

Example arrival-cash calculation

$1,300 to sign + $245 for seven temporary nights + $25 transfer + $75 setup supplies + $200 delay reserve = $1,845.

Illustrative inputs, not local quotes. Flights, visas, insurance, food and other personal costs remain additional. The paid workbook lets you replace the assumptions and tracks unresolved amounts.

Effective monthly cost = rent + bills + one-time fee ÷ stay length. Deposits remain separate because they may be returned. Cost is one part of choosing a home.

The Phnom Penh pack adds your own quotes, missing-term checks, a full budget, arrival costs and a plan you can save.

This small demo resets when you leave. The paid workbook saves your entries in your browser and lets you export a backup.

Worked example · first-week output

A short list of actions, with a reason for each.

  1. Days 1–2 · Establish your base

Confirm your temporary address and extension price. Test mobile data and write down your normal work destination.

  2. Days 3–4 · Inspect two homes

Request written rent, deposit, bills and lease terms. Test the commute and bedroom noise; record what remains unconfirmed.

  3. Days 5–7 · Make a decision

Compare complete quotes and signing cash. If neither home meets your requirements, extend the search and update arrival costs.

An illustrative sequence, not a promise that you will secure a home in seven days. The paid pack provides the local guidance and editable tools to build your own plan.

01 · Find your base

Four routes you can investigate

Compare Daun Penh · Central Market, Toul Kork · Phsar Depo 3 / Tuek Lak 1 and two alternatives. Each route gives you a local task and a tradeoff to test.

02 · Compare actual homes

6 dated enquiry leads

See asking rent, layout, bills, stated terms and caveats. Enter three current written quotes; incomplete ones are kept out of the cheapest-home ranking.

03 · Make the numbers yours

Six separate starting profiles

Simple, Comfortable or Living well, with a rented motorbike or public transport. Adjust monthly costs, add personal and arrival expenses, and test a delayed housing search.

04 · Arrive with next actions

A guide that ends in a decision

A local arrival desk, first-week sequence, 24 dated planning checkpoints, six enquiry templates and a record of your evidence and unresolved questions.

Try the first neighborhood task.

Daun Penh · Central Market

A central rental lead to compare with your recurring destinations.

Your task: Inspect the actual apartment entrance, stairs or lift and sleeping room. Test the trip to your work base.

The tradeoff to check

A central address may have a very different evening routine from your preferred work neighborhood.

Record the actual address, route, fare and what failed your requirements. The paid workbook keeps this beside the housing quote.

This is an editorial fieldwork task, not a measured commute or an endorsement of every building. The full pack adds the other routes, dated rental and service references, budgets and planning tools.

What you are paying for

Less scattered research.
A decision you can explain.

The free site helps you explore cities. The pack organizes the next stage: comparing real housing quotes, identifying missing costs and leaving with an arrival plan you can save. We do not promise a particular saving.

Keep the files and your work.

Read the guide and use the workbook from your private purchase page, or download both HTML files and a quick-start text file in a ZIP. Export a backup to move your entries between devices. Print or save a PDF snapshot whenever you need it.

Before you buy.

Are the rentals available?

They are dated advertisements, not inspected or reserved homes. Availability, current prices and contract terms need a written reply from the advertiser. A budget reference is not a rental offer.

Are the budgets complete?

They are itemized one-adult starting estimates with a 12-month housing target. The reported rent category does not certify that lease or furnishings. You add health, insurance, coworking and arrival expenses. The planner shows unresolved amounts instead of treating blanks as confirmed zero costs.

How do I receive it?

After payment, Stripe returns you to your private purchase page with browser access and downloads. We also email the access link to your checkout address. If email is delayed, keep the purchase page; you do not need to pay again.

Will my plan sync?

Entries save in the browser and profile you use. They do not synchronize across devices or online/offline copies. Export a private backup after important changes and import it when switching devices.

What is not included?

No live inventory, automatic updates, housing booking, visa processing, personal consultation, legal review or insurance advice. This is the September 2026 personal-use edition for this city.

What if I need help?

Contact us with your checkout email and receipt for access help, duplicate charges or a refund review if the delivered pack differs from its description. Do not send card details.
